Dear Midtown West Supporter:

Our public Elementary school is the gem that urban parents dream of finding. Our diverse and creative social studies curriculum is based on experiences only New York City offers. Study themes include the first grade theatre study, where the children mount their own professionally worthy show after multiple field trips to Broadway or turn their classroom into a restaurant – as featured in a 2004 New York Times article. We maintain an equally strong curriculum in the arts, humanities, math, and science, preparing our students to enter the very best middle schools in the city.

Midtown West is truly a diverse school, serving children of multiple ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds. Students are dedicated to the school and travel from all parts of the city to attend. The giftedness of each child is honored and treasured at Midtown West. Our academic programs are enhanced and made remarkable through generous donations. Through visual art, music, science, technology, museums and various cultural programs throughout the
city, our students’ academic lives are elevated to new heights. This can only be done with additional funding.

To sustain this kind of education costs approximately $750 per child beyond funds allocated by the government. All of this extra money must be raised by the Midtown West PTA.

Our biggest fundraiser of the year is our upcoming auction, which will be “live” for online bidding from April 19, 2010 to May 13, 2010. Please consider making a generous donation of goods or services that will help to make our event a success! Our 501(c) (3) nonprofit status allows donors to deduct the value of their donation to the full extent allowed by law. We acknowledge every donor in the online catalogue, in our school newsletter, and on our web site. We also encourage the school community to patronize auction supporters, without whom we would not be able to sustain this truly unique school. To donate, please fill out our Auction Donation Form.
